Elisi Pan Piano Duo

Since forming the Elisi-Pan Duo in 2024, pianists Enrico and Mengyang have captivated audiences with their vibrant interplay and refined artistry. Hailing from different cultural backgrounds (Italian-American and Chinese-British) and drawing on diverse, wide-ranging experiences, the duo united in Europe, where their shared passion for collaborative music forged a dynamic partnership. Despite their distinct solo careers and teaching roles on different continents, they came together through a deep artistic dedication to collaboration, overcoming personal and logistical challenges.
They approach their repertoire with a deep respect for individuality and cohesion, crafting richly expressive performances that are technically assured and colorful. Their collaboration blends two distinct musical voices in a shared pursuit of depth and artistic insight. Committed to offering diverse musical experiences, the duo alternates between works for two pianos, four hands, and solo compositions. Upcoming performances include recitals in the U.S. at Music at Penn Alps, Baylor University, Southern Methodist University, Texas Christian University, Weatherford College, and venues in the Bay Area.
Recently, the duo performed Poulenc’s Concerto for Two Pianos and Orchestra in Beijing with the China Conservatory of Music Symphony Orchestra, led by renowned German conductor Manuel Nawri, in Guoyintang Concert Hall as part of the concert Retrospect: The French Chapter of Turn-of-the-Century Music.
The duo has been featured at notable venues worldwide, including the Texas State University Guest Recital Series and Texas State International Piano Festival, the Steinway Gallery in Austin, and the Clayes Performing Arts Center at California State University, Fullerton, in the U.S. In Europe, they have appeared at the Conero International Piano Festival in Italy and Cheltenham Ladies College in the UK. Their engagements have taken them to Steinway Hall in Shun Yi, the Cavendish Concert Hall in Beijing, the Namhae International Festival & Academy in South Korea, and the Goethehaus in Jakarta, Indonesia, as well as the Spring x Tsing Hua Arts Festival at the National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan.
Additionally, the duo is often invited for residencies at universities and conservatories worldwide, presenting various pedagogical projects such as “Effective Memorization Strategies for Pianists,” “Duo Open Rehearsal Workshop,” and “Echoes of Progress: Traversing Piano Pedagogy from Beijing to Britain”—initiatives that highlight their commitment to fostering musical growth in varied educational settings.
Mengyang, a distinguished Chinese-British pianist, is lauded for her poise, refined artistry, and eloquent musical expression. She has performed at some of Britain’s foremost concert halls, including the Royal Festival Hall, Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall, and Birmingham Symphony Hall. Her international engagements span Europe, the United States, and Asia, with appearances on BBC Radio 3 and Oesterreich 1 Kulturjournal. A laureate of esteemed competitions such as the Rina Sala Gallo, Ettlingen, and Birmingham, she is revered for her exquisite touch and tonal finesse. Having collaborated with maestros like Vladimir Ashkenazy and John Wilson, her performances have drawn acclaim for their brilliance, captivating nuance, and emotional depth.
Recognized for his elegance and sensitivity, Steinway Artist Enrico has performed at prestigious venues such as Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall, the New York Public Library, the Morgan Library, and the National Gallery of Art in Washington. In Europe, he has appeared at La Fenice Theatre in Venice, Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, Pavarotti-Freni Opera House in Modena, and notable German venues like Kiel Universität’s Bach-Saal. His global reach includes performances in Asia, South America, and Canada. As a laureate of the Oporto International Competition and Premio Venezia, Enrico has soloed with orchestras such as the Florence Symphony and Bay Atlantic Symphony. His recordings include Mozart sonatas and works by Paul Chihara.
Enrico earned degrees from the Conservatories of Florence, the International Piano Academy of Imola, and the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University, with primary teachers including Leon Fleisher, Lazar Berman, Alexander Lonquich, Franco Scala, Boris Petrushansky, and Giuseppe Fricelli. He pursued further study at the Taos and Ravinia Festivals, delving into chamber music with Robert McDonald, Menahem Pressler, Gilbert Kalish, and Claude Frank.
Mengyang holds degrees from the Royal College of Music in London, where she studied under distinguished professors Gordon Fergus-Thompson and Vanessa Latarche. She began professional training at Beijing’s Central Conservatory of Music—Affiliated Middle School and attended the Purcell School for Young Musicians in the UK under Tessa Nicholson.
In addition to their performing careers, Mengyang and Enrico are passionate educators. Mengyang is a piano professor at the Royal College of Music in London. Enrico serves as the Harold D. and Imogene Herndon Endowed Professor of Music in Piano at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, having previously held positions at the University of Toronto and the Eastman School of Music.
